Position Location: Opelika, AL


Job Description: The Hardware CAD Engineer is responsible for the development of performance hardware products by capturing and processing 3D scan and portable CMM data, using that data to create a workable model environment, creating complex part and assembly models. This position also requires creating detailed engineering drawings of those components, creating and testing prototypes to validate those designs. After the design process is completed, the engineer will be creating BOMs, working with supply chain, vendors, and manufacturing to ensure efficient quality production and release of these performance hardware products.


Job Requirements and Responsibilities:


  • Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent
  • Formal CAD and GD&T education with comprehensive understanding
  • At least 2 years of experience with complex CAD modeling (CREO or Solidworks)
  • Proven capability of DFM
  • Experience with all stages of product development lifecycle from conceptualization to commercialization
  • Understanding of manufacturing techniques to ensure product is manufactural efficiently
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment and enthusiasm for product development and manufacturing
  • Motivated and capable of time management
  • Ability to demonstrate CAD proficiency during an interview


Required Qualifications & Experience:


  • Car enthusiast and basic understanding of performance modifications
  • Competency with Windchill or other PDM software


Physical Demands:


  • Ability to lift 45lbs
  • Ability to sit and stand for long periods
  • Adequate vision for measurement of small parts
