An eternity in the making-- Dinan flash tuning is now available for a wide variety of BMW B58 powered platforms (B58B30M0 specifically).
With over 3 years of development spanning engine control modules (piggybacks) and engine calibrations (flash software) specifically for the B58 engine, every switch/bit has been flipped in the quest for maximum power. Not just any power however - safe, reliable power that does not sacrifice the long-term health of the engine. Dinan performance engine software is so much more than just turning up the turbo boost after all. It is a fully re-tuned engine management program that maximizes power while keeping all the BMW factory safeguards in place. In most cases Dinan software engineers also implement their own additional safety precautions in order to guarantee flawless performance that may not have been needed with factory power levels/programming. Protecting your BMW, while giving the most performance, is the definition of "Performance Without Sacrifice". To do just that, drivetrain and engine components are analyzed for strength, and then the calibration is tested on the dyno and in the real world for durability and drivability. This process has been a cornerstone of Dinan software development for decades and a major reason why Dinan performance tunes are often labelled as being the smoothest, factory-like solution in the marketplace.
Unlike historical Dinan flashes that were limited to a warranted 91/93 octane mapping, the new breed of engine calibrations are offered in numerous configurations depending on your specific needs, desires or limitations. Whether you are limited to 91 pump gas, want to experience maximum performance on 104 octane race gas at the track, or something in between, chances are Dinan has an option for you. At its core Dinan offers 2 base options; Stage 1 and Dinan +. The Dinan Stage 1 Performance Engine Software is designed for the B58 engine to yield maximum power (for a variety of different octanes), improve drivability, and remove the factory speed governor for unadulterated entertainment. The Dinan + variant of software offers these same features (albeit limited to 91/93 octane) but also carries the signature Dinan 4yr / 50k, factory matching new car warranty that the brand is synonymous with.

This part is legal under the provisions of EPA’s memorandum 1A. The company has reasonable basis (test results) to verify that this product allows the vehicle to operate within legal emissions standards and is therefore legal to be sold for on-street use in all states that accept the legal provisions of the Clean Air Act and EPA Memorandum 1A. This product is NOT LEGAL FOR SALE OR USE IN THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA. Testing with the California Air Resources Board, in order to achieve 50-state compliance, is pending with CARB. Once testing is complete with California, and an E.O. number is issued, this product will be updated to 50-state legal status.

DME UNLOCK & FLASH NOTICE / HOW TO PURCHASE
B58 DME's must be unlocked and bench flashed by Dinan. While dealer / retail unlock and flashing tools are in development and will be available in the future, at present, two options are available:
OPTION 1: Visit a Dinan Dealer and purchase the Dinan Flash Software . They will remove and mail the DME to Dinan. We'll unlock the DME, flash the software and ship it back. They'll reinstall the DME.
OPTION 2: Purchase the tune. Send us your DME. We’ll unlock it, install Dinan software, and ship it back. The unlock process is free. Ground shipping to the continental USA is free. Follow the steps below if this is the course you wish to pursue.

Fill out the unlock form and select BMW under the unlock type.
Mail your DME to Dinan, 4800 U.S. Hwy 280 W, Opelika, AL 36801, USA, and include the last 7 of your VIN on the outside of the box along with a copy of the unlock form inside the box.
At no time during the unlocking process is the DME opened or physically modified. If the DME is flashed back to stock, it will need to be unlocked again. Also, vehicle manufacturers issue many DME part numbers and revisions throughout their vehicle lineup. As such, some DMEs may be temporarily unavailable as new parts and/or revisions are released.
CODE CLEARING:Customers doing the DME removal/install process themselves should be aware that in the case a fault code occurs, having the ability to read and erase fault codes is crucial. Failure to be able to perform this task may result in a vehicle that is inoperable. Dinan will not cover any expenses related to not being able to clear codes (towing, equipment rental, etc.).
BOX CODES: The B58 engine and its multitude of variants account for numerous unique box codes across various platforms. While Dinan has created files for many of these permutations, there is a chance you may have a box code that we have not seen. If this happens to be the case we will need to create a file for your vehicle. This process could add up to 7 days to the bench flash process although in most cases it will be turned around within 2 business days.
ENGINE VARIANTS: D900-B58-F-S1 (-W) performance engine software is specifically tuned to function with the B58B30M0 engine variant. The B58B30M1 and B58B30O1 engine variants found in the G chassis X5/X7/8 Series and G20 M340i among other applications are not currently supported by this release. B58B30M1 may be supported at a future date by this specific software following additional validation.
